Special Disclaimer
- The Commish does not get paid for all the hard work, time invested and financial hardships.
This Football Pool is intended for recreational fun only and is
not for profit. All monies taken in are paid out in prize money. It cost
me money to run this pool, but I do it because I enjoy it. However, depending
on the number of Poolmeisters, there will a small amount of $$$ left at the end of the season
due to rounding off prizes. The Commish will use those funds to
defray the software / web site costs, and to purchase a 12-pack of Miller Lite to
celebrate. I play, and pay just like you! Helluva guy huh!
- The 6DaystoSunday.com web site is designed and created mainly for the challenge and sport
of picking winning football teams. Like many things, the addition of having the chance to win something,
places an additional excitement on this challenge. Together with friends, family and co-workers
competing against each other brings bragging rights into play. Bottom line, having fun is the
determining factor of the 6 Days to Sunday NFL Pool.
- Due to the fact money is(may be)involved; fairness and honesty must be achieved. The commish
is extremely dedicated to running and fair and honest pool. Therefore all the rules and conditions
are listed here for your review. In the rare case an issue is not directly covered by any rule, my
decision will be final.
- My decisions will ALWAYS be based on what is fair based on present rules, implied rules and common sense.
- I will NOT make exceptions for individual players; this includes late submissions.......... Everyone has to play by the same rules as outlined below (Make sure you read them!)
AND NOW ON TO THE RULES AND INFO!

DEADLINES
- Sunday deadline is 12AM - 1 hour before first game kickoff.
The pool has gone global so there are different time zones involved. There are some Thursday and Saturday games. For those games, submit picks for all games before kickoff and submit your changes of the remaining games by the Sunday deadline. Only the Thursday or Saturday picks are shown on the Player Selection Page until after the Sunday deadline. The pick sheet is posted on Tuesdays. You can submit your picks as many times as you like. I realize you might find out information after you submit your picks that would make you change a pick. I will use your last submission. The Players Selection Page will be posted just after kickoff. Prizes depend on participation in each pool.
Picksheets will be locked once the deadline has passed or games have started
Forfeited Games
- The NFL stated that if a game cannot be rescheduled during the 18-week schedule due to a COVID-19 outbreak among unvaccinated players, the team with the outbreak will forfeit and be credited with a loss. Forfeited Games: If a Team forfeits a game the opponent is declared the winner with a score of 2-0 per NFL Rule 11 - Scoring - Article 1 - Winning Team. The point spread for this game will be removed. If BOTH Teams are declared as forfeiting, the game will be declared a tie 2-2 and both teams lose (Ties are treated as losses)
Submitting Picks
- Use the web site each week to fill out picks and it will send me your picks. you can print the page you are sent to after submitting or you can click on the "what are my current picks on file" button on the picksheet
- You will NOT receive a pick receipt email.... You should print the pick confirmation page just in case there are any problems.
- If your picks are not in by the deadline for that week...... You will receive computer generated, random picks for both the teams and the points, and WILL NOT be eligible for the weekly pot. If this happens more than twice... the third time will result in a zero
- If for any reason these webpages cannot be accessed to make one's picks, players can still make their picks by sending me E-mail.
Weekly / Season Pool
- The pool is a played with confidence points and picks are striaght up - no spread.
- Here is the Official Explanation:
Pool members must assign a number to each game based on ? how sure? they are that their team will win. If they feel very confident about a team, they assign the game a higher number. If they are unsure, they give the game a lower number. If their team wins, they win the amount of points they assigned to the game. If they lose, they obviously do not collect any points. Example: The 49ers are playing the Giants. You are pretty Confident that the Giants will lose this game. You pick the 49ers to win, and on the Picksheet, place a high number (like 14, 15, or 16), on the 49ers. If you are NOT so Confident the 49ers will win, place a lower number on them. If the team you picked to win DOES WIN, you get the assigned Confidence Points for that game. If the team you picked LOSES, you receive ZERO points for that game. The most Confidence Points determine the weekly and season winners.
The object is to accumulate as many points as you can each week.
- If a game ends in a tie, it counts as a loss.
- Number of weekly winners will depend on how big the pool is and these will be determined by total confidence points accumulated that week.
- If there is a tie in total points accumulated in a week, then the tiebreaker will be used.
- This tiebreaker will be wins and losses for that week... most correct wins. If there is still a tie for first place after the tiebreaker, player closest to the total points scored in the Monday night game will be deemed the winner.
- Any Poolmeister posting a "Perfect" sheet will receive and additional 15 pts... This will be added to any pool accumulating points.
- There will be five SEASON pool winners.
- They will be determined by total points accumulated for the entire regular season.
1st-45%
2nd-25%
3rd-15%
4th-10%
5th- 5%
- Tie breaker for the season pool is by number of total wins over the entire regular season.
- Everyone's picks for the current week will be posted on the All Picks page.
This page will post after the deadline for that week, and with any luck... prior to kickoff of the first games.
- You can change your picks at any time before the deadline each week....To do so, just resubmit your picks.
TARGET POOL RULES ...This pool is separate from all the others...
- Each week you will be assigned a random team. If your team scores 27 points, you are credited with a win that week.
- 1st place only to the player(s) who have the most wins at the end of the Regular Season.
- In the event of ties at the end of the season, the prize will be split among the 1st place ties.
- In the event no team hits 27 points by the end of the Regular Season, the target point will be adjusted down until there is at least 1 hit on the target. The target point will be adjusted to 26, if no winner, then adjusted to 25, etc..
- Payout is winner take all... payout will be determined by how my players are in the pool.
SURVIVOR RULES
The Survivor Pool - Also known as the King of the Hill, and the Suicide Pool. The premise of the pool is simple: A pool member picks only one team each week. If they win, they move on to the next week. Once a member picks a team, they cannot pick that team again. The pool continues until only one member is left. Survivor pools are run "straight-up", which means a players eam does not have to beat the point spread, it only needs to win outright. Each pool member gets "two strikes" or 2 wrong picks before they are out. Check out the rules below.
- On the weekly picksheet, select one team that you think will win outright (no spread) that week.
- You can only select a team once throughout the entire regular season(each week select a different team).
- If you select a team twice it will count as a loss for that week. The commissioner will do his best to let you know that you have selected a duplicate team in your picksheet via email, but ultimately it is the player's responsibility.
- If you fail to submit a pick on time you will be given the first available team that you haven't used from the alphabetical list. I will only do this once... 2nd time is a loss.
- After your SECOND loss, you are out of the pool.
- This pool continues until there is only one player left, all remaining Survivors go out in the same week, or until the end of the regular season.
- If all remaining players are knocked out in any given week or at the end of the regular season there is more than one player left the tiebreaker will be the number of games lost within the survivor pool, (either 0 or 1). If only one player has no losses then he/she would be the winner. If there is still a tie or all remaining players are eliminated then the player with the most consecutive wins within the survivor pool will be the winner. If a tie still exists the pot will be split equally to all tied players.
- Pot is 90/10 split between first and second place. Total payout will be determined by the number of players in the pool.
- You are automatically given one play in the Survivor with your registration
MARGIN RULES ...This pool is separate from all the others...
The Margin Pool is similar to the Survivor Pool in some ways. With a Margin Pool, you only have a one-time pool fee, and you pick one team each week.
The Margin Pool is different from a Survivor Pool in that in a Margin Pool, you play the entire season, you are not eliminated with a loss. It is a type of pool that you are never really out of it until the end. You could be in first place, and wham, your team loses by 28 points, and another players team wins by 35 points.
- The Margin Pool will begin with week #1 and run through the end of the regular season.
- On the weekly picksheet, select one team that you think will win by the biggest "margin" of points outright (no spread) that week.
- Once a pool member picks a team, he cannot pick that team again (each week a different team).
- If his team wins, the winning margin, or margin of victory is added to his season point total.
- If his team loses, then the winning margin is subtracted from his season point total.
- Duplicate and non-picks picks get the weeks biggest margin subtracted from their total.
- The poolmeister that has the most points at the end of the season is the winner. Total wins are used as a tiebreaker.
- Payout is winner take all... payout will be determined by how my players are in the pool.
LOSER RULES ...This pool is separate from all the others...
- Almost the complete opposite of the Survivor pool
- Pick a loser each week instead of a winner.
- You can use a team just ONCE during the season !!!
- This pool continues until there is only one player left, all remaining Survivors go out in the same week, or until the end of the regular season.
- If there is a tie or all remaining players are eliminated in the same week then the pot will be split equally to all tied players.
- Payout is winner take all... payout will be determined by how my players are in the pool.
LOW PLAYER OUT RULES ...This pool is separate from all the others...
- "Low Player Out" is an elimination pool where player(s) with the least # of wins each week are eliminated (including ties).
- You must be in the Weekly Pool to enter
- Your weekly pick sheet is used for this game.
- This game runs the entire Season or until only one player is left.
- The last week if all left are eliminated the winner is the one with the highest # of wins for the year. Example - In week 15 there were 3 players left and they were all eliminated(they all had 7 wins), then the player of those 3 with the highest # of wins for the Season would be the winner.
- Payout is winner take all... payout will be determined by how my players are in the pool.
BRACKET RULES ...This pool is separate from all the others...
This is your typical single elimination Bracket style pool with randomly chosen match-ups to start. Your weekly results will determine the winner of each match. The number of brackets will be determined by the number of entrants.
- You must be in the Weekly Pool to enter
- Your weekly pick sheet is used for this game.
- Payout is winner take all... payout will be determined by how my players are in the pool.
Pick 5 RULES ...This pool is separate from all the others...
- This pool will begin with week #1 and run through the end of the regular season.
- On the weekly picksheet, select the winner of 5 games... STRAIGHT UP. You can't pick both teams playing in the same game
- The more games you win, the greater the points earned. 1 win = 1 pt, 2 wins = 3pts, 3 wins= 5pts, 4 wins= 8pts, 5 wins = 12pts. Most points at the end of the Season wins.
- Tie Breaker- Player guessing closest to the total points score in final game of the Season.
- You must be in the Weekly Pool to enter
- Payout is winner take all... payout will be determined by how my players are in the pool.
